Goodbye Belgium!

Today was our last day in Belgium. What is nice about staying in these cites for a week at a time is that we really start to feel like the locals. The first couple of days is always a confusion of how to work the metro, read the map, and find our way home.  It's also days filled with endless sightseeing and "touristy" activites. But by the end of the week we are navigating through the metro and streets like a true native and looking for places that are less known yet still fascinating.

That is exactly what we did after class this morning. We had lunch at our favorite healthy cafeteria/cafe EXKI. After lunch we went to an exhibit about Leonardo ad Vinci. It was a really complex and intriguing exhibit. Although it did not have any of the original works it had full scale models of inventions and had interactive displays that explained the genius behind each of ad Vinci's works.

We spent the remaining afternoon doing some shopping in the local stores.

And of course we couldn't leave Belgium without one final taste of the famous Belgium Waffle and chocolate!

Then we came home for a quiet dinner prepared for us and spent the rest of the night packing for our early flight we will be taking tomorrow.

Goodbye Belgium! It's been an amazing week here in the lovely city of Brussels but I am so excited to see what adventures await for us in the following days to come.
